How do you feel today?
Moods come and go and mix and match every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month and year… and I can appreciate each and every one of them. Life is not cut and dry, it is not concrete. Nothing is constant except change.
We often forget or refuse to acknowledge and respect the feelings we are having. We push them aside, we swallow them, we hide them, we pretend they do not exist. But what if we were to set aside 5 or 10 minutes a day to acknowledge our feelings, feelings we had throughout the day that we could not, or would not allow ourselves to feel. What if we carried around a little notebook and wrote them down and looked at them at some point for 5 to 10 minutes a day? In writing, aloud, in our own minds.
Right now, I feel grateful. I feel reticent. A little sad. More grateful. And I am thankful for every feeling, juxtaposed, awkward, uncomfortable or jubilant. I am thankful I have a very wide, extremely complex range of emotions to cope with life. =)
